Job Description

Join our client's team as a Construction Accounting Clerk, where you'll play a key role in managing full-cycle job costing and contract accounting for construction and development projects. This position involves processing AP invoices, maintaining accurate project records (contracts, change orders, lien releases), preparing AIA billing, and ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. You'll collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to monitor budgets, track financial performance, and reconcile costs and expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process AP invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Maintain detailed project records, including contracts, change orders, and lien releases.
  • Prepare AIA billing and track project costs for accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate directly with Project Managers and Engineers to monitor budgets and reconcile expenses.
  • Create and distribute financial reports to support project tracking and company operations.
  • Maintain vendor and customer databases to ensure data consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers via email, internet, and phone to resolve issues and maintain relationships.
  • Support bookkeeping tasks, review purchase orders, and assist with special projects as directed by the Accounting Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2-5 years in accounting (construction industry experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Procore, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong clerical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Understanding of GAAP standards and construction billing practices is a plus.

Compensation:
$27-$31/hour
